Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnership Scheme 2024/2025 Award Presentation Ceremony
was successfully held on 19 January 2026 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The ceremony was funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and organised by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Research Centre for Gerontology and Family Studies. It aims to recognise companies and organisations that have actively promoted age-friendly and intergenerational-friendly measures, jointly addressing the challenges of Hong Kong's ageing population and seizing the opportunities presented by the silver economy.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests from government, business and academia, including: Dr LAM Ching-choi, GBS, JP, Member of the Executive Council of the HKSAR Government and Chairman of the Advisory Committee of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Research Centre for Gerontology and Family Studies; Dr CHAN Pak Li, Bernard, JP, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the HKSAR Government; Ms Imelda CHAN, Head of Charities (Health & Older Adults Cluster), The Hong Kong Jockey Club; and Dr Laura LO, Associate Vice President (Institutional Advancement) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
A total of six Special Awards were presented at the ceremony, including the Age-friendly Employer Award, Age-friendly Facilities Award, Age-friendly Innovation Award, Age-friendly Collaborator Award, Our City's Story Award, and My Favourite City Partnership Scheme Award, in recognition of companies and organisations with outstanding performance in promoting age-friendly and intergenerational-friendly culture across different areas.
The Scheme attracted over 400 companies and organisations to become "Age-friendly Partners", reaching a record-high participation level. Participants included corporations, SMEs, social enterprises and government departments from various sectors, showing that more and more organisations are actively incorporating age-friendly elements into their products, services and daily operations. Furthermore, the public voting for the "My Favourite City Partnership Scheme Award" garnered over 200,000 votes — a new record for the Scheme — fully demonstrating the community's strong interest in and support for age-friendly initiatives.
The organisers hope that by recognising the best practices of the award-winning organisations, more companies and organisations will be encouraged to continue innovating, working together to build a more inclusive and harmonious age-friendly Hong Kong.
