Age-friendly Employer Award

Year of Senior
Hang Yick Properties Management Limited has long supported the Employees Retraining Board (ERB)’s Post-50 Internship Program. Upon completion of the program, they may be recruited to work in their preferred departments or site offices to unleash their potential. The company is always happy to hire ERB re-trainees aged 50 or above as well. In addition, Hang Yick helps to promote ERB’s various courses and services. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to social responsibility, particularly for the promotion of employment of the disadvantaged. At the same time, Hang Yick has launched the “Year of Senior Program” in 2013, which allows participants to opt for their own monthly working days and hours, accommodating their personal schedules, family and social needs.

Elderly and Middle-Aged Empowerment Project
Established in 2015, Happy-Retired Charity Action (HRCA) is committed to promoting an age-friendly workplace for those aged 50 and above (50+) fostering age diversity and inclusion. As a one-stop service platform, it provides diverse services such as job and volunteer matching, training and more for those aged 50+. It also engages employers to promote age-diverse hiring practices and offers intergenerational inclusion training to bridge the gap between these older employees and their employers.

Senior Models & Employment of Seniors
OHH Dear Communications, Hong Kong’s first and only senior modelling agency, as well as a creative studio specialising in the senior segment, is dedicated to recruiting and training individuals aged 50 and above as professional models, pioneering the involvement of older adults in the modelling industry. The agency showcases the positive, active lifestyle of older adults by participating in advertisements and events, and it promotes intergenerational inclusion and age-friendly community projects to connect different generations, while advancing the concept of active ageing.

(Merit) Continuous Employment Program for Silver Women Talents
Green Ladies & Green Little, Hong Kong’s first environmentally friendly social enterprise operating on a consignment model, is dedicated to promoting employment opportunities for middle-aged and older women. The company has established a range of employee-friendly practices, including flexible work arrangements, a people-oriented holiday policy, clear occupational safety guidelines, and a gradual retirement plan, while also investing in its employees by offering diverse training programs, which enable women aged 60 and above to remain active, support sustainable fashion, and contribute to the community and the environment.

(Merit) Retirement Transition Support Policy
HPE champions age equality by not enforcing a mandatory retirement age, allowing employees to continue their careers according to their skills and preferences. In addition to offering comprehensive group life and medical insurance, HPE has also provided voluntary contributions beyond the statutory MPF requirement, benefiting all employees, including those aged 65 and above. HPE also provides flexible retirement options for employees aged 65 and above who plan to retire on their own terms.

Universal Design
Central Market, the Grade III historic building with 85 years of history, has been revitalised into a vibrant community hotspot that pioneers the “Playground for All” concept by accentuating an “Approachable”, “Energetic” and “Gregarious” appeal. Adopting the principles of Universal Design, Central Market thrives as a space that preserves its original architecture while offering enhanced accessibility for seniors and others in need. Facilities include optimised entrances and exits with ramps and handrails, wide automatic sliding doors and illuminated lighting on the “Central Market” sign; accessible elevators and escalators, accessible toilets, and minimalist handrails installed on both sides of the staircase, etc. Since its reopening in August 2021, over 100,000 older adults have utilised the facilities, demonstrating the broad applicability of these features and transforming a historic building into an inclusive space for all ages.

Social Caring Services
Hang Seng Bank is committed to providing innovative and friendly banking services for its customers. The bank has set up Social Caring Counters at over 20 branches to provide priority banking services for customers with special needs, which is part of its efforts to foster an age-friendly and inclusive financial environment. Since 2024, referencing the Architectural Services Department’s Elderly-friendly Design Guidelines, Hang Seng has pioneered an age-friendly service area at its Sha Tin Branch. The bank has also introduced convenient counter services, a user-friendly Simple Mode Mobile App, and regular Smart@Digital Banking workshops to comprehensively enhance elderly customers’ banking experience and help them enjoy a more comfortable and confident digital banking experience.

The Tanner Hill – Vertical Model of Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)
The Tanner Hill, developed by the Hong Kong Housing Society, is the city’s first non‑subsidised premium housing project exclusively for higher‑income individuals aged 60 and above. Its unique “Vertical Model of Continuing Care Retirement Community” integrates “hardware”—residential units, recreational facilities, and healthcare services-with “software”—comprehensive services and a diverse range of social activities—all within a single building. The model, through effective management of different resources, meets the needs of older adults at different life stages from independent to dependent living, helping them to age-in-place.

(Merit) CityBus Services
Citybus Limited is committed to providing convenient and comfortable public transport services for passengers of all ages, while actively promoting inclusive travel to meet diverse needs. Citybus has equipped bus compartments various barrier-free facilities, including priority seats, handrails, two wheelchair spaces, and information displays for wheelchair users. In 2024, Citybus launched the mobile app Citybus Lite, designed for older adults and visually impaired passengers, with enlarged font sizes, voice assistant and narration modes, and no advertisements, further promoting smart and barrier-free travel.

(Merit) Elderly Inclusion in Sha Tin.Together, we build New Town
New Town Plaza, managed by Kai Shing Management Services Limited, passionated in encouraging older adults to explore the city by organising activities. In recent years, the plaza has set up leisure spaces and facilities with different themes on each floor, whichprovide older adults with larger spaces for rest and social interactions, helping them to embrace the community and strengthening their bondings in the community. The plaza has also offered a shopping guide targeting older adults, and encourages merchants to develop age-friendly policies to attract older adults with the purpose of building an age-friendly business area.

(Merit) MTR Age-Friendly Facilities and Services
MTR Corporation is committed to fostering an elderly-friendly travel environment by actively listening to feedback from passengers and stakeholders to create barrier-free indoor and outdoor spaces. Key initiatives include gradually increasing seating availability at busier stations, adding double handrails in stations and malls, enhancing the accessible design in new stations, and installing larger signs with bigger font sizes. In addition, MTR also provided all frontline staff with professional training on services for older adults, aiming to continuously enhance their travel experience.

Taste Joy Soft Gourmet
Fulfilling its role as a community dining hall, Café de Coral Group offers meals that cater to the dietary needs of people across different generations with varying physical conditions. The group has launched Taste Joy Soft Gourmet, which meets international standards for soft meals, and offers dine-in, catering, and take-out services, helping caregivers reduce meal preparation burdens. In February 2025, Café de Coral organised the "Joyful New Year Poon Choi Feast," inviting older adults to share festive flavors at Café de Coral outlets and online, with specially prepared soft-meal Poon Choi so seniors with swallowing difficulties can dine at the same table as their caregivers, promoting inclusive dining culture.

Ah Wood Soft Meal
Fairwood Fast Food Limited officially launched Ah Wood Soft Meal on October 1, 2024, becoming the first fast-food chain to offer soft meals to the community. Ah Wood Soft Meal is specially designed for individuals with swallowing difficulties, with ingredients carefully softened, molded, and solidified to resemble normal food in appearance. This can help older adults feel more comfortable with soft foods and enhance their dining experience. Additionally, mobile swallowing assessment stations will be established at various Fairwood outlets, where speech therapists will conduct swallowing assessments for those in need, aiming to enhance public awareness of swallowing difficulties and promote understanding of soft meals.

Smart Care Solution
Guardforce has long been committed to improving elderly care through innovative technologies. The company has developed a range of “Smart Elderly Care Solutions” that address the pain points of safety, dignity, and efficiency for elderly care, helping to improve the quality of life for the elderly in residential care homes and for caregivers. The solutions cover a range of contactless technologies and integrate AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), and real-time data analytics to deliver instant alerts and quantifiable insights, enabling faster care responses, reducing manual workload, and safeguarding the elderly’s dignity and privacy.

eHealth App
eHealth is a territory-wide, patient centric electronic health record (eHR) sharing platform that enables healthcare providers (HCPs) in both public and private sectors to view and share patients’ eHRs for healthcare purposes with authorisation. The eHealth App serves as an one-stop integrated health tool, allowing older adults to access to care at all points, manage their health service processes, access useful health information and view their eHRs, such as allergies and adverse drug reactions, immunisation records, laboratory and radiology reports, encounters/appointments, and medication etc.

Pricerite Home recognises the needs across different life stages. The Silver Living Experience Centre features a thoughtfully selected collection of safe, high-quality home products designed to create convenient, comfortable, and independent living spaces for customers. Pricerite is committed to creating a comfortable home environment for older adults, with careful attention to product design, materials, sizing, and integrated Internet of Things (IoT) services. In addition, Pricerite provides smart home monitoring services and tailored smart home support and straightforward maintenance services specifically designed for older adults, creating a safer, more comfortable, and higher-quality living experience for them.
Age-friendly Collaborator Award

“A Trip of Memory”
Since October 2023, The Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd. has partnered with cross-sector organisations to launch Hong Kong’s first simulated and smart bus stop. KMB donated a Caring Bus Stop Pole, handrails, an alighting bell, and en-route bus stop announcements for Route 2F, and has provided technical support and custom-designed bus panels to create a realistic and familiar bus environment. This initiative is integrated into a narrative-based cognitive stimulation programme. By incorporating bus travel experience into storytelling, the programme helps elderly individuals with visual and cognitive impairments reconnect with cherished memories, enhancing their language, cognitive, and social abilities.

Link Sustainability Lab & Link Together Initiatives
Link Asset Management Limited established Hong Kong’s first community-based sustainability education platform — the Link Sustainability Lab at Lok Fu Place. The Lab offers immersive experiences, interactive games, and themed exhibitions that integrate sustainability into everyday life and business, fostering collaboration among customers, tenants, suppliers, and the community. Committed to supporting older adults in the community, Link funds Arts’ Options’ Inspirational Programme Drama, Nature Link, the ecological conservation initiatives to strengthen community belonging.

Smart & Fun Therapy @Home
The "Smart & Fun Therapy @ Home" initiative was launched by the Occupational Therapy Department of North District Hospital to ease the burden of hospital visits for individuals with cognitive impairment, promote continuous home-based therapy, slow decline, and reduce caregiver stress. Therapists tailor cognitive stimulation games, self-care activity strategies, and community activity schedules into a home therapy package according to each individual's cognitive abilities, cognitive reserve, lifestyle, environment, and interests. Through training and knowledge transfer, the program empowers caregivers and reinforces their role as companions. The service framework unites healthcare for patient-centered care, social welfare for professional network support, families for enhanced confidence and capacity, and patients for sustained therapy participation.

(Merit) Innovate Together Embrace Joyful Ageing
During 2024/25, the EMSD visited over 60 elderly centres and organised talks on electrical and mechanical safety and energy efficiency for more than 2,200 older adults. In the same year, EMSD collaborated with the Tung Tau Care Team in Wong Tai Sin District to replace LED bulbs for older adults and to brief them on electrical safety and energy-saving practices. The Director of EMSD also participated in volunteer activities, demonstrating the government’s commitment to working with the community. Additionally, EMSD has participated in the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit for eight consecutive years, and since 2020 has actively supported the Jockey Club “Age at Home” Gerontech Education and Rental Service, promoting the application of age-friendly technology in services.

(Merit) Elderly Railway 101
The MTR Corporation, in partnership with the Hong Kong Island Elder Academies Cluster, organised the Railway 101 programme. The programme aims to equip older adults with essential railway knowledge and to boost their confidence and safety awareness when traveling with MTR. The MTR‧Care, a mobile app that provides accurate travel information and details on barrier-free facilities, supporting safer journeys for all. The programme encourages interactions between older participants and students through engaging learning activities, promoting mutual respect and a stronger sense of community. Immersive visits allow older adults to better understand railway operations and facilities, further raising travel safety awareness. Upon completion, graduates become Caring Ambassadors, promoting safe and smart travel in the community and contributing to a culture of safe travel.

Food Angel’s “Meals on Wheels” & Yan Chai Hospital & Hong Kong Association of Private Eye Surgeons: Cataract Patient Subsidy Programme
Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited is committed to supporting the community, providing thoughtful support to elderly individuals from low-income backgrounds and vulnerable groups. Funded by BOC, Food Angel’s “Meals on Wheels x Self-Serve Station” flexibly reaches remote or underserved areas to provide more dignified food assistance to older adult and underprivileged individuals in need; BOC also funds Yan Chai Hospital to provide outreach eye examinations for individuals in its elderly care centres and residential homes, and subsidises cataract surgeries for those in need, alleviating financial burdens and shortening waiting times, while promoting eye health awareness.

Project i-Care
Emergency Unit of Kowloon East Region (Hong Kong Police Force) launched Project i-Care, aimed at assisting frontline officers in systematically and efficiently referring cases involving older adults in need to relevant departments or organisations. The initiative includes instant translation services, bridging communication gaps between the police and hearing-impaired individuals or dialect-speaking communities. Its advanced electronic referral system enhances frontline efficiency, ensuring vulnerable groups receive timely support while fostering trust in the police.

Silver Hair Kitchen
Maxim’s Group connects communities through great food. Since 2015, Maxim’s in collaboration with The Jade Club, has organised the “Silver Hair Yum Cha,” arranging for corporate care ambassadors to visit elderly care homes and celebrate festivals with residents. Maxim’s has also introduced “GENTLEMEAL,” a new soft meal brand tailored for swallowing difficulties, with dine-in options at designated Maxim’s Palace outlets and MX restaurants. The Maxim’s Palace in Luk Yeung Galleria, Tsuen Wan, has joined HKCSS’s “Care Food Incubation Scheme,” enabling more individuals with swallowing difficulties to dine with their families and rediscover the joy of eating.

(Merit) Lifedb Free Referral Service for Elderly Care Homes
LifeDB Limited supports older adults and their carers through precise matching and ongoing care. The services include needs assessment, personalised recommendations for suitable care homes, and guidance throughout the admission process. With their professional knowledge and advanced data management, the company, providing on-going follow-up, is dedicated to deliver high-quality services. The company prioritises compassion and dignity, striving to enable older adults to adapt and enjoy their later life with comfort and respect.

(Merit) LOVE Project
Gingko House supports underprivileged families and disadvantaged groups through diverse programs, including Free Love Meal Boxes, Love Bread Vending Machines, Senior Handmade Goods Vending Machines, winter clothing drives, and LOVE Cake “Infinite Joyful Elderly” Birthday Parties, fostering social inclusion and sustainable development. It also provides employment opportunities for older adults in the food and beverage sector. No prior experience is required; employees receive training and guidance from professional social workers to help them adapt. This supports their financial stability, enhances well-being, and restores dignity, enabling older adults to contribute meaningfully to the community.

Senior Police Call Share the Love
Since 2006, the Hong Kong Police Force has launched a range of initiatives to develop partnerships with the elderly in crime prevention. In 2014, the Senior Police Call (SPC) scheme was rolled out across the Force, adopting a multi-agency collaborative approach to train older adults to become guardians of the community. The annual flagship event, SPC Share the Love, mobilizes members to spread care to older residents in need and promotes community inclusiveness. The initiative also distributes blessing bags and crime-prevention materials across Hong Kong, embodying the SPC spirit of “helping oneself and others” and conveying the Force’s message of Serving Hong Kong.
