The launch ceremony of the City Partnership Scheme was held on 7 June 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 300 guests attended the event, including representatives from the business sector, Government departments, public organisations, social enterprises and non-governmental organisations. The Scheme’s four supporting organisations (namely The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, The Federation of Hong Kong Industries and The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce) and judging panelists, as well as the Project partners and ambassadors were also present to support the event.
Dr Law Chi-kwong, Secretary for Labour and Welfare and Mr Leong Cheung, Executive Director, Charities and Community of HKJC were the officiating guests of the ceremony to kick start the Scheme. Subsequent to the launch ceremony was the thematic forum on “Silver Market – The New Growth Engine for Hong Kong” which analysed how Hong Kong should support the future development of silver market and its market potential.
